Plowing at Charlies...
After plowing, disking and cultipacking it was time to plant!
Meanwhile we were still working on getting the last of the manure out... Jeff managed to get the tanker plugged... really plugged (that can happen when the pit is nearly empty)... so...
Karl did some fiddling and the two ran like mad to get away from the pressured outflow!
Jeff needs to be in the cab so when it lets go he can drive it away really fast so a huge puddle doesn't form.
Hmmm, didn't manage to unplug it - false alarm... gotta try something else
OH that did the trick!!!!
Drive, Jeff, Drive!!!!
Meanwhile, plowing started at our place....this is the drivers view
The land was "dry" but not too dry. We had to be very careful and 4 wheel drive was used on a regular basis.
Once Jeff was done at Charlies he hauled the last of the manure at our place so it could be plowed under.
After plowing, disking and cultipacking the planting began at our place... Rain was in the forecast so Karl insisted on working til it was done.
The last of the corn was planted at midnight on the 28th of May. We can now breath a sigh of relief... or can we?
We beat the rain that day... but by the look of it now the rain is beating us... Once the rain stops we may have to replant some sections as they are being drowned out... wonder when summer is going to come?
